Final Project
Final Project Preparation
In week 1, we should watch short motion
shorts and shortlist 3 stop motions shorts
in a slide and provide reasons (style, art direction, character design...)
This task can inspirated us about the
direction of our final slow motion
project.

Ideation
Our idea is about the main character casually tossed an empty
alumminium can on the ground after taking a sip.
Suddenly, he was hit on the head by an unknown
object. He looked at it and saw that it was the
garbage he had just discarded on the ground.
Dismissing it, he kicked the object away and
continued on his way. To his surprise, a looming
shadow appeared, revealing a hungry trash can
ready to devour the main character. Panicking,
he attempted to escape, but accidentally tripped
over the drink he had just discarded. In the
end, the trash can swallowed him up.
We shared our storyboard with Mr. Martin, and he gave us feedback. He liked the idea and suggested adding some close-up shots to highlight the hot day aspect.
Reflection
Stop Motion
For this project, I teamed up with my classmate, Xiaohui, to tackle the stop-motion assignment. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, finding it both fun and educational. This project was no as easy as ABC; we had to brainstorm, decide on ideas, and prepare props independently. Initially, we were clueless, but after some research and brainstorming, we found our direction. Throughout the process, we supported each other whenever problems arose, and I want to express my gratitude to her for that. From prop preparation to shooting and editing, we invested a considerable amount of time. We applied all the knowledge we acquired in this module to bring our final project to life. We are pleased with the outcome we achieved.
