Week 1

Week 5

In Week 5, the lecturer conducted a class activity on card sorting. There are several card sorting methods:
  • Open Card Sorting: Participants are provided with all the information and must create their own categories.
  • Closed Card Sorting: Participants are given both the information and predefined categories and must connect the information to the appropriate categories.
  • Hybrid Card Sorting: Similar to closed card sorting, but participants are also required to think of new features for new categories.
These methods help in organizing information and understanding how people perceive and categorize data. We conducted hybrid card sorting in a group of three based on the information provided by the lecturer.

We used the sticky notes that the lecturer reminded us to bring this week to list down all the features. I acted as the moderator, discussing with my two groupmates how to categorize the features and the reasoning behind our choices. Our concept was based on the travel timeline, categorizing features into three phases: preparation, during travel, and post-travel.

We would like to add a user profile page as a new feature because we believe it is crucial for a travel planning app. A user profile page allows travelers to store personal information, preferences, and past trip details, making future planning more efficient. It also helps personalize the user experience by offering tailored recommendations and itineraries based on previous travels and preferences, thereby enhancing overall user satisfaction. Additionally, a profile page can facilitate better organization and easy access to travel documents, tickets, and bookings, further improving the user experience.
