Lectures week 1:
At first week, Mr. Fauzi had brief us about the introduction to Digital photography and Imaging and also Module Briefing. Besides, he had showed us the past students' works. Hence, we can have a preliminary understanding of this module.

Task Week 1:

• Register Pinterest

• List down your 3 favourite graphic design composition work from Pinterest.

The style I like for this artwork is that it looks neat and comfortable. Sometimes, I think the artwork does not need to be too colorful and include various colors but it can be simple in color. The object of the artwork can be drawn simply. Although it seem not delicate, it has another beauty.

The reason I like this graphic design is when I see it, I think it is cute and the whole design is very organized. It looks balanced in the arrangement and the designer is good at using space and applies well in proportions of the design. The light brown of the background with the red and blue color in the design brings a harmonious feeling to the audience visually.

I like artwork which has esoteric meanings. This made me curious and imaginary about it and tried to analyze the painting from the designer’s point of view. From this graphic design, it looks like a man left the world and broke something that was once good. This artwork expresses the designer’s sadness and regret for the man’s departure but also contains respected meaning to him.

Assignment 1A:

a) Physical Collage Design

We should develop a idea with layers of images with design principles and the fundamental of composition. We can find the images from magazines, newspapers and books. After this, cut out the images that we need and try to compose it into 3 different layout.

Lectures week 2:

As today class is about physical collage, Mr. Fauzi changed our class from Computer Lab 19 to E1.10 because there have more space for us to complete our physical collage. Mr. Fauzi had talked about the introduction to basic composition which include Rules of Third, Golden Ratio, Composition framing and cropping.

Task Week 2:

• Choose and identify collage's design elements

I choose my collage's design elements from this magazine as the elements of it is more about life and suitable for me.

I had cut out a lot of materials from the magazine and try to figure out which I needed for my physical collage. I choose a black colour paper as my collage's background.

• Pre compositing your collage's design elements into a composition.

• Take 3 photos of our physical collage and submit in google classroom.

After submitting my work, Mr. Fauzi had commented that I can glue the composition#2 and bring it to our next class.

Assignment 1A:

b) Digital Collage

Lecturer had given us some picture and we should  use Adobe Photoshop as tool for doing digital imaging, compost different images into one final output.

Lectures week 3 (Online):

Our class conducted online because of the Raya holiday. We learnt about the skills using lasso tool, pen tool and layering in Photoshop. Mr. Fauzi had demonstrated to us the way of using each tool. Hence, we can using the skills in our next exercise.

Task Week 3:

• Create 3 different composition digital collages from the images that you’ve downloaded.

Lectures week 4:

I had showed my digital Imaging to Mr. Fauzi and he asked me about which is the most that I like. I like the third composition as it looks more powerful and bring mystery feelings to me. Mr. Fauzi agreed with me.

Task Week 4:

• Working with Adjustment Layers & Filters for the chosen Digital Imaging (slightly adjust).

Assignment 1B:

a) Digital Imaging Exercise 1 Part 1

We had given tutorial video and also image. Hence, we should follow the steps in video to complete this Photo Manipulation ( Hearst Mansion). In this video, we can learn on how to use quick selection tool, layer mask, filters, and color correction.

Lectures week 5 (Online):

We learned about the basic of digital photography. (Exposure settings, lens perspective and DSLR vs Smartphone) Besides, Mr. Fauzi also showed us a video about how to make a diy photo studio.

Task week 5:

• Project 2 Digital Imaging Exercise 01 (Part 1: Shazam)

We should use our own full body photo with right lighting techniques from eye-level shot to replace the 'Shazam' in the photo.

Assignment 1B:

a) Digital Imaging Exercise 2 

We need to follow the tutorial video which teach about how to recolor black and white photo by using brush tool.
