Project 1- Self Portrait

Recap of project 1 brief
     Self portrait is a representation of a person through their artwork such as painting, sculpture, photography. From the artwork, others can quickly understand about your uniqueness, personality and thinking. That's the beauty of self portraits.💞
 
     My task for this project is create a portrait of myself by applying various principles that I had learnt these few weeks such as Balance, Word and Image, Contrast...

  • I looked for some examples on the Internet and found that there are many types of self portrait. 👀

Design process and Idea exploration
IDEA 1

  • I combine anime picture and real picture to form a picture about myself.🤳
  • Anime picture means I hope can be a perfect person in front of others.
  • Real picture represent the real me in life.

  • For final showing of myself is using imperfect way (some part lose).
  • It means sometimes we did not really know about ourselves. We need time to find out the lost parts.🔎

  • Middle part of my face, I put the things which related with me as the connection point between real me and anime me. ⏫⏬
  • I was perfected by what I loved. Without them, I am like a soullness.👻 

Final Outcome
  • Finally, I decided to use my idea 1 as it is more better to explain who I am.👧

      My world is full of imagination and the things I like. It like bubbles floats randomly in my fantasy world. The imperfect me is stitched together by anime me and real me. I am the special being which is the owner of this world.👸


Design Principle included
Emphasis
  • I placed my picture at the middle of my self portrait. Hence, viewers will directly notice about my face.😀
Contrast
  • I used anime picture and real picture to form a new picture. For anime picture, I lower down its transparency to present contrast. It means I have two different personality.😄😭
Variety
  • Different type of things are used to show about there are many things I like in my life and there are really necessary for me.💖
Lecturer's feedback

     I had asked my lecturer via WhatsApp about my progress of self-portrait. I send him fig.2.2.4 and fig 2.3 to him. He said it is interesting and can proceed it.💙So, I added more details on my artwork which is the bubble and things that I like to look more complete.

Reflection
     From this project, I had understood myself more clearly. What makes me feel very fulfilled is that I have created my own portrait which really represent me. I am satisfied with my outcome.😁

     Based on fig.2.5.1, I had thinking a lot through this assignment as I should think about my personality. The most challenging things is how do I present myself via my artwork without any words.

     Other than that, I had learned how to use editing software to edit my picture and combine it to form my artwork. Actually, I still have many editing functions did not know how to use and I would like to try it even this assignment did not required the functions.
